Homes for Sale in Eaton, Indiana
Eaton was incorporated as a village in 1873 soon after the railroad was built through the neighborhood. The first discovery of natural gas in Indiana occurred in the town of Eaton a few years later. This discovery set off the Indiana Gas Boom, leading to two decades of rapid regional growth, bringing glass, metal, and other industries to the area.
After the gas supply dried up, automobile components – from gears to batteries – became a thriving industry. This is still true today with some of the biggest employers still manufacturing automobile components in this area. This is a great area with beautiful homes, stable jobs, a good highway system, and friendly neighbors.
