But Kolby took his job seriously and after learning our wishes and finding the perfect location we were led to our perfect forever home! We hadn't planned on selling/buying, but when the opportunity came along - we needed to move quickly. Kolby jumped in and moved the process along professional and assertively. He provided honest guidance and worked tirelessly to ensure we felt comfortable with the entire process.

I cannot recommend working with Kolby Smethers as an agent enough. Kolby helped us while we were relocating to back to the Indy area from Chicago. My husband and I were nervous about house hunting in a hot market from 180 miles away. This is the third home we’ve purchased, and even with the distance, this was by far and away the easiest home buying experience we’ve had. Early on in our search, we spent some time with Kolby in Indy so he could hone in on our likes and dislikes. Due to the distance, we couldn’t be around to look at every house we liked online, so we needed to maximize our time together. If there were houses we were interested in and we couldn’t make it down, he would go look at them for us, and even walk through with us on Facetime. He was patient and would show us every detail we asked about.

Kolby knew we were concerned about our new home’s proximity to something important to us, and would start off every showing by telling us how many minutes away this potential new home was. It was such a personal touch, and it meant a lot to us that he took the time to google map the distance from each address in preparation, so we never needed to worry about it.

In the end, Kolby found our dream home for us. He reached out to us about a house and said that as soon as he saw it, he thought it was everything we were looking for, and offered to go look at it for us. It was mid-week and there was no way we could make the trip down. Kolby walked through the house with us on Facetime, and we knew it was the one. We ended up putting in an offer without ever stepping foot in the house – something we never thought we would be comfortable enough to do – but Kolby made it easy, and reassured us that this was the house we had been waiting for. When it came to making the offer he even went the extra mile to explain our situation/distance to the seller’s agent, and included in the offer built in time for us to make it down and see the house in person. Everything worked out perfectly. When we finally made it to visit the house in person, I had tears in my eyes after just a few steps into our new home – it was everything I had ever dreamed of.

To put it very simply, if Kolby had not been our realtor, we would NOT have gotten this house. Once we had our accepted offer, he guided us through the inspections, appraisals, walk-throughs, etc. and he had names/companies whenever we needed them but never pushed them onto us. At closing, the selling agent made it a point to let us know that Kolby had been so great to work with and that the offer he wrote stood out because of the little things Kolby added in. We don't anticipate moving again any time soon, but we will be shouting Kolby's names from the rooftops for anyone who might be in need of a realtor. Kolby was really a pleasure to work with. He was easy going. Down to earth. He was so quick with getting us walk throughs with houses no matter what time of day. Which was definitely key to getting us a house in this quick moving market.
