Hebron Area Homes
Hebron is located about 20 minutes south of both Crown Point and Valparaiso in northwestern Indiana. With an updated highway system, it’s easy to live in Hebron and travel to another town for work. I-65 runs through the state from north to south and is in close proximity to Hebron while US-231 meets State Road 8 in town.
Crest Knoll was the first large subdivision added in Hebron after World War II. Appearing in 1957, it covered 22 acres on the northwest corner of town. A short time afterwards, Fairlane Subdivision was added on the southwest side of town. During the 1970’s, Ganz Subdivision took over the development of the Frame Subdivision on the west side. Park Place, the largest housing development Hebron had ever seen, began shortly after that. Located on Hebron’s northwest side, Park Place provides housing for several hundred residents in the form of single-family dwellings and apartments.

Shopping and Dining
There is plenty of great shopping and dining in the Hebron area. Specialty and discount stores line the streets in town, yet if you’re looking for more, Southlake Mall is close by in Merrillville. This enclosed regional mall is one of largest in the state with over 100 stores and restaurants. Shoppers can head to the movie theater to see the latest blockbuster after they are done shopping, or they can have a good time at the Fun Corner Arcade.
Suzy’s Diner is located on Main Street. This vegan-friendly and kid-friendly restaurant serves delicious home-cooked meals at an affordable price. Wana Pizza also has a convenient location on Main Street. Fresh dough, real cheese, and awesome toppings equal a great pizza for a quick meal or late night snack. Bronko’s Restaurant & Lounge, best known for its award-winning pizza, offers a great selection of quality food that is cooked fresh daily.
Culture and Entertainment
The Stagecoach Inn is in its original location on North Main Street. It has been fully restored by the Hebron Historical Society and is used as a railroad museum. Hebron also offers family entertainment with a bowling alley and movie rentals along with many local parks and even a winter ice skating rink. Nature lovers enjoy spending time at the Stoney Run County Park, located in nearby Leroy. The 316 acres of tranquil woodlands, ponds, and open meadows lend themselves to a peaceful experience.
Careers and Industry
As in the past, the town of Hebron continues to offer a variety of businesses close to home. Many retail stores are available such as floral, bakery, banking, and auto repair, which is great both for shoppers and those looking for a job. Businesses in other industries also offer job opportunities. Lennon Industries is one of these businesses, and they specialize in maintenance and repair of industrial metalworking equipment across all lines of manufacturing.
Two hospitals, Pinnacle Hospital and Franciscan St. Anthony Health, are located about ten miles away in Crown Point. Both hospitals provide excellent healthcare for residents and career opportunities for those in medical, clerical, informational technology, and related fields. The most common industry in the area is construction. Other common industries are manufacturing; accommodation and food service; transportation and warehousing; educational services; and professional, scientific and technical services.
Schools
The Metropolitan School District of Boone Township is the school system that serves students in the Hebron area. It includes an elementary, middle, and senior high school, all of which offer a first-class educational experience for all students. The schools in the district have earned a variety of accolades including the Four Star school award, a “School to Watch,” and the current AdvancED accredited school district (all schools) through the North Central Association (NCA).
