Pike Township

Pike Township School District is located in Marion County in the city of Indianapolis. The school district boasts nine elementary schools (three are on year-round schedules), three middle schools, one high school, and an alternative public preparatory academy.

Choosing to purchase a home in the Pike Township School district offers your child the opportunity to take part in sports, the performing arts, and a myriad of academic clubs. The district also boasts programs for gifted learners at the middle and high school levels.

 

Central Elementary School

Technology is at the heart of Central Elementary. This K-5 elementary school has a central focus on literacy and math readiness, and teachers here use writing and math skills along with technology as an interdisciplinary tool. Students have plenty of opportunities to join in fun activities such as becoming a student ambassador or a member of the school news team.

 

College Park Elementary School

Teachers at College Park Elementary have high expectations for their students, both academically and behaviorally.  Students from Kindergarten through 5th Grade get individualized attention to ensure their academic success. With popular events like Math Night and Reading Night, students celebrate their skills alongside their parents.

 

Deer Run Elementary School

The dedicated teachers and staff at this K-5 elementary school believe that all children can and will learn with the right focus and attention. Teachers assess students’ grasp of information often in order to focus their teaching on what areas are needed. However, students at Deer Run have plenty of fun times as well with activities such as choir, Fun Fridays, a spelling bee, a talent show, Young Author’s Day and other events throughout the year.

 

Eagle Creek Elementary School

This is one of the three elementary schools in the MSD of Pike Twp that is on the year-round calendar.  First opening its doors in 1985, this school has educated many students with curriculum and instruction geared toward teaching all students, from special education to high-ability students. With a focus on critical thinking and problem solving, students learn to be lifelong learners.  Student council, math club, art club, and the Singing Eagles are just a few extracurricular activities students can join.

 

Eastbrook Elementary School

Representing the State of Indiana in the National Title I Distinguished Schools Program, Eastbrook Elementary School has certainly made strides in closing the achievement gap between special education students and those in general education. They recognized where improvement was needed and worked to ensure that all of their students were successful, regardless of background or ability. Teachers and staff offer a number of incentives and fun events such as Dr. Seuss Night, Science Fair, and Reader’s Theatre.

 

Fishback Creek Public Academy

Fishback Creek Public Academy has a curriculum that is based on a scientific approach to learning: inquiry, making a hypothesis, investigations, and critical thinking skills.  Students are taught how to use a variety of new technology in order to aid them in their learning and investigations.  Fishback Creek students can join in extracurricular activities such as acting class, chess club, chorale, yearbook, news crew, student council and more.

 

Guion Creek Elementary School

At Guion Creek, it’s not enough to just teach academics, but rather to teach the whole child: academically, emotionally, behaviorally, physically, and socially. Teachers and staff have high expectations for their students and celebrate their diverse environment, using it to their advantage. Working in teams on hands-on projects give students a one-up on their education and gets them ready as lifelong learners. Students here have opportunities to join a number of extracurricular and co-curricular activities and clubs.

 

New Augusta Public Academy South

This year-round school serving Kindergarten through 5th Grade offers a caring and nurturing environment where teachers and staff focus on creating lifelong, well-rounded learners. Entrance into this school is based on a district-wide lottery. As a Title I school, they receive extra resources to ensure that all students receive the aid necessary to support literacy and math readiness skills in order for all students to be successful. 

 

Snacks Crossing Elementary School

Originally built in 1913, the school was considered a rural school at that time. Going through many changes, Snacks Crossing today serves preschool through 5th Grade.  The school has an updated computer lab and media center, a distance learning lab, art and music rooms, a gym, a playground, and each classroom has at least five computer stations. Students are able to join various clubs and activities such as tennis club, art club, science club, book club and more.

    

Lincoln Middle School

Lincoln Middle School boasts numerous athletic programs such as football, baseball, cheerleading, and volleyball. The school also offers students a variety of academic clubs such as student council, jazz band, choir, handbell choir, and art club. The school prides itself on its ability to reach their students and offers them the ability to “reach their greatest potential” in academics as well as in extracurricular activities.

 

Guion Creek Middle School

Guion Creek Middle School enrolls students from Grades 6-8 and takes great pride in collaborating with parents and the greater community to ensure the success of their students. In addition to their educational philosophy, the school offers Advanced Placement courses and athletic teams such as soccer, basketball, football, and tennis. The school also boasts an updated media center as well as a dedication to the performing arts, including orchestra and choir, believing this teaches students structure and discipline.

 

New Augusta Public Academy North

New Augusta Public Academy North is a Grades 6-8 middle school.  The school’s goal is to “develop an intrinsic passion for learning through and beyond school.”  The school also notes that they believe strongly in a solid community to support the education of their students and take pride in having capable, effective educators to ensure that children succeed. Programs for gifted students as well as athletic and musical programs are offered through the school.

 

Pike Preparatory Academy

Pike Preparatory Academy was created to assist students in middle and high school who are more likely to benefit from alternative options in education. The mission of the school is to

enable students with the confidence and courage they need to contribute to their school’s and community’s growth. The school has a large focus on the performing arts as well as career development. Pike Preparatory Academy offers both regular and accelerated curriculums to make sure students are able to graduate on time. 

 

Pike High School

Pike High School serves students from Grades 9-12 with a student to teacher ratio of 19:1. The school encourages parents and staff to work together to facilitate a successful and smooth transition to post-secondary education or to the workplace. With a separate Freshman Center to help students make the transition from middle school to high school, Pike students can also choose to follow the International Baccalaureate program, Advanced Placement, or Dual Credit courses. The school offers numerous academic as well as performing arts and athletic programs for students who are interested in extracurricular activities and exploring the diverse nature that is offered by Pike High School. Athletic teams include baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling.
